Gathering Patron Stories to Demonstrate the Impact of Your Library in Your Community with Linda Bruno

August 10 @ 2:00 pm CDT 3:00 pm CDT

Register for live webinar or recording

As a trainer and facilitator with libraries, I have the pleasure of hearing heart-warming, poignant, uplifting stories from staff just in casual conversation. However, in workshops, when we talk specifically about stories in their libraries, people tend to draw a blank. After all, “it’s all in a day’s work.”

BUT…do others really know what you do within those days? I don’t think so! In this webinar, we’ll reflect on how meaningful our jobs are and how we do, indeed, impact our communities. We’ll discuss how we can build an archive of stories for our library and how those stories can not only encourage others to use the library, but also convince your community – and your co-workers – of the value of what you do.

Statistics are nice, but stories are forever!

Linda Bruno has been developing and conducting training workshops for libraries for more than fifteen years. Her favorite thing to do is to help people become their best selves! That’s why she offers workshops on topics ranging from Leadership Skills to Emotional Intelligence – and lots of areas in between.

PLAN webinars are free for all Florida library staff and volunteers.

This project was funded either under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act from the Institute of Museum and Library Services or the Library Cooperative Grant program. Florida’s LSTA and LCG programs are administered by the Department of State’s Division of Library and Information Services. For FY2023, 71% of the total costs for the PLAN Continuing Education program ($218,429) is supported by federal money, and 29% of this program ($90,351) is supported by state money. The total budget of the project is $308,780.
