Patents are a valuable, complicated, and often underutilized public resource. This workshop is intended to help first-time patent researchers understand what patents are and how to read them. It will cover formal patent searching techniques and free online resources for patent searching.
Denise A. Wetzel joined Florida State University Libraries in January 2018. She holds a B.H. in Interdisciplinary Studies from the Pennsylvania State University and a Masters in Library and Information Studies from the University of Alabama. She is a member of the Atmospheric Science Librarians International (ASLI) and the American Meteorological Society (AMS). Her research interests include undergraduate information literacy, terminology usage disparities by researchers across STEM disciplines, and meteorology resources and their use.
